Synopsis
A wealthy Chinese father raises his daughter between traditional expectations and a Western education. Her secret relationship with a young Englishman disrupts an arranged marriage and brings the families into conflict. The father's response turns his wounded authority into a plan for revenge against people who have underestimated its severity.
