Synopsis
A disputed inheritance brings a group of guests to a wealthy estate concealing a bootlegging operation and hidden money. An unknown prowler adds another danger to the gathering. As people begin to die, the guests must distinguish the criminal business already inside the house from the threats arriving around it.

D. W. Griffith developed his own variation on the popular stage-house mystery. After disappointing previews, he added a large storm climax, combining previously filmed hurricane material with studio effects to give the resolution greater spectacle.
