Synopsis

A man cannot marry until his prospective sister-in-law finds an exciting suitor of her own. An accident introduces a painfully timid stranger who might be made to fit that description. Recasting his personality creates a chain of romantic and domestic misunderstandings.

Cast

Historical context

Buster Keaton's early MGM sound comedies place his physical precision within dialogue-driven farce. The contrast between a timid man and an invented romantic reputation provides the mechanism here.
