Synopsis

A Chinese dancer working in Paris becomes involved with a Russian painter and poses as his model. Pursued by another man and accused of theft, she finds that professional dependence and personal vulnerability reinforce each other. A move to the Riviera offers a chance to establish the truth behind the accusation.

Cast

Behind the scenes

Anna May Wong starred in this British-German collaboration directed by Richard Eichberg. Studio work at Babelsberg combined with locations in Paris, Nice and Monte Carlo, giving the film a European setting for a performer often restricted by Hollywood's casting practices.
