Synopsis

A storyteller recalls the child lost during a tiger attack and raised by wolves. Returning to human society as Mowgli, the boy carries knowledge the villagers neither share nor always respect. The jungle and the village offer different forms of danger and belonging.

Inspirations

The Korda brothers adapted Rudyard Kipling after moving their production activity from London to Hollywood. The film presents a literary jungle imagined for a large colour adventure, rather than documentary natural history.
