Synopsis
A small-town inventor hopes that an unbreakable windscreen will finally make his fortune. A car mix-up ruins the demonstration and sends him home in despair. On the return journey he befriends a woman he believes needs rescuing, unaware that her royal status may transform the social position of his entire family.

W. C. Fields returned to the same story in the talking film You're Telling Me! in 1934. This silent version, filmed at the Astoria studios in Queens, turns technical ambition and small-town snobbery into two connected sources of embarrassment.
