Synopsis
A theatre troupe encounters a mysterious voice in an old building. Behind the apparent haunting is a singer whose career and appearance were destroyed by violence. His bond with a younger performer draws the troupe into an unfinished story of love, political conviction and revenge.

Inspirations
The Phantom of the Opera provides a recognizable foundation, but Ma-Xu Weibang redirects the material toward Chinese theatre and revolutionary politics. Songs carry both romantic longing and political feeling within the horror setting.
