Synopsis
A chauffeur cares for three orphaned siblings in an isolated, deteriorating house. Their peculiar innocence coexists with dangerous behaviour attributed to a fictional hereditary condition. Outside interference threatens the fragile arrangement that has kept the household apart from the world.

Filming took place in 1964, but the producers' bankruptcy delayed release until 1967. The initial obscurity gave way to a cult following, helping explain the film's unusually long life after its troubled beginnings.
