Synopsis

During Mardi Gras in New Orleans, a wealthy young man encounters a circus performer and dancer. Their attraction crosses the boundary between his family circle and her itinerant working world. Festival freedom gives way to the more difficult demands of a lasting relationship.

Cast

Inspirations

The film adapts the musical Sunny, associated with Oscar Hammerstein II and Otto Harbach. Its carnival and circus settings provide a framework in which romance and staged performance can repeatedly meet.
