A married beetle leaves home to visit a dancer, unaware that a jealous cameraman is recording their meeting. His wife has a secret romance of her own, but the beetle reacts with outrage when he discovers it. A subsequent trip to the cinema brings his double standard into public view, because the projectionist has chosen a particularly personal film to show.

Starevich animates articulated insect specimens as if they were performers in a domestic melodrama. Their carefully staged gestures make the tiny world recognizable, while the camera within the story becomes an instrument of exposure and retaliation.
