Synopsis

Mickey rides a rhea to an Argentine tavern, where Minnie attracts both him and outlaw Pete. When Pete carries her away, Mickey pursues them and the rivalry becomes a sword fight. The cartoon turns an adventurous rescuer's role into a succession of elastic visual gags.

Inspirations

The short parodies the swashbuckling world of Douglas Fairbanks's The Gaucho. It was prepared as a silent cartoon but released with synchronized sound after Steamboat Willie.
