Behind the scenes

Producers Releasing Corporation supplied a low-budget setting for George Zucco's scientist and Glenn Strange's monster. Contemporary production records indicate roughly two weeks of filming, despite later accounts of a five-day shoot. The screenplay also folds wartime arguments about useful scientific research into its revenge plot.
