Synopsis
Count Dakkar's scientific community is attacked by a ruler who wants control of its discoveries. Escape and pursuit carry two submarines into the depths, where the struggle encounters an unfamiliar undersea world. Machines designed for exploration become the means of confronting both political violence and extraordinary creatures.
Cast
Behind the scenes
The long production crossed the transition from silent cinema to talking pictures. Its combination of submarine effects, color photography and sound reflects the technical ambitions and complications of MGM's Jules Verne adventure.
