Synopsis

Betrayed by his half-brother, an English nobleman is blamed for a killing and sold into captivity. Escaping the galleys, he rises to command a corsair ship under a new name. News of his former beloved's approaching marriage draws him back toward the betrayal that transformed his life and the possibility of clearing his name.

Frank Lloyd's adaptation of Rafael Sabatini's novel used full-sized vessels for its sea action. Existing craft were extensively redesigned instead of relying solely on miniature ships, giving the naval encounters a distinctive scale and physical presence.
