Synopsis

Childhood friendship grows into love between a landowner’s son and the daughter of a herder. His mother refuses to accept a match across the class divide, forcing the young couple to negotiate a world in which affection carries less weight than family standing. Their hopes collide with the economic dependence of the girl’s household.
