Synopsis
An ambitious young swordsman arrives in Paris and turns three intended opponents into loyal companions. The queen's missing jewels send him across the Channel to frustrate a cardinal's scheme. Familiar heroic exploits take increasingly ridiculous forms as duels, romance and royal honour are subjected to deliberate comic distortion.

Inspirations
Max Linder parodies both Alexandre Dumas's Three Musketeers and Douglas Fairbanks's recent film version. Altered names and impossible solutions puncture the swashbuckling conventions without abandoning the basic adventure. This was Linder's final American production before returning to Europe.
