Synopsis
Harry falls in love with the woman pictured on a billboard and enters a cross-country walking race in the hope of winning enough money to marry her. The journey tests a competitor whose innocence often protects him from recognizing the danger around him, even when the race approaches a spectacularly chaotic finish.

Historical context
Harry Langdon's slow reactions and apparent bewilderment shape the comedy, contrasting with the more forceful style of many silent clowns. Joan Crawford appears as the woman who inspires his unlikely athletic ambition.
