Synopsis
Three Broadway chorus performers approach romance with different expectations: financial security, ideal love and a tentative desire for experience. Wealthy admirers and dependable working men offer competing futures. Their choices bring pleasures and disappointments that force the youngest to reconsider what success under the theatre's bright lights would actually mean.
The film adapts Eddie Dowling and Cyrus Woods's stage play through the intersecting lives of three women. Constance Bennett, Sally O'Neil and a young Joan Crawford lead a backstage story distinct from the later 1938 musical adaptation.
