Synopsis
An expedition aboard the airship Excelsior reaches Mars and encounters a society organized around peace. The visitors must reconsider earthly assumptions about violence and conduct, while their captain falls in love with a Martian woman. Returning home becomes more than a technical goal: it may provide a way to carry the planet's ideals back to Earth.

Historical context
Made during the First World War, the Danish space fantasy uses an imagined civilization to advocate pacifism. Its journey connects romance and scientific adventure with a direct concern about how human societies choose to live together.
