Synopsis

Countess Ysabel treats the people attracted to her as diversions, while a preacher works among those facing poverty and despair. The consequences of her romantic games gradually bring these contrasting worlds together. Asta Nielsen plays an aristocrat confronted with the damage that charm and indifference can leave behind.
