Synopsis

A department-store employee's knowledge of an explorer's book persuades a wealthy woman to take him and his colleague on an African expedition. They imagine a profitable adventure but have little practical preparation for what awaits. Abbott and Costello parody the safari picture through mistaken expertise, hidden motives and a series of comic encounters.

Cast

Inspirations

The title plays on Africa Speaks!, the 1930 expedition documentary. Abbott and Costello's adventure parodies safari entertainment, while its imagined Africa also reflects the exoticising conventions of that genre.
