Anna Christie

Synopsis

Anna reunites with the barge-captain father she has barely known and joins him on a voyage. A romance with sailor Matt Burke offers a possible new beginning, but her father's protective ambitions and the men's judgments threaten it when she reveals her past. Blanche Sweet plays a woman trying to decide how much of her life others are entitled to condemn.
