Synopsis

A relief column reaches a desert fort and finds dead soldiers positioned along its walls, leaving an inexplicable scene of apparent resistance. A written confession connects the mystery to a stolen English jewel. The story then follows three devoted brothers whose decision to join the Foreign Legion conceals loyalties they will not readily explain.

Cast

Behind the scenes

Plans to film in Algeria were abandoned amid the Rif War, and American desert locations supplied the setting. Herbert Brenon's adaptation of P. C. Wren's novel combines the fortified outpost mystery with a story of brotherly sacrifice.
