Synopsis
A boy who refuses to grow up visits the Darling nursery in search of his missing shadow. He teaches the children to fly and takes them to a world of fairies, lost boys and pirates. Wendy's arrival changes the small community, while Captain Hook waits for an opportunity to defeat Peter and capture his companions.
The first film adaptation of J. M. Barrie's play retains much of its theatrical structure and dialogue in the intertitles. Betty Bronson plays Peter, continuing the stage practice of casting a female performer. Its depiction of Indigenous characters preserves stereotypes from the source tradition.
