Mickey

Synopsis

Raised in a struggling California mining household, Mickey goes to live with wealthy relatives near New York. Expecting an heiress, her aunt is disappointed and makes her work as a servant. Cast

Historical context

Mabel Normand's feature combines physical comedy with a sustained romantic story. Its difficult path to widespread release contrasts with the popularity it eventually found, showing the uncertainty that could surround even a successful silent-era production.
