Synopsis
Sue Graham escapes an unwanted marriage by chasing a Hollywood contract secured with somebody else's photograph. When the studio discovers the mistake, she finds work among costumes instead of stars. Her screen ambitions collide with backstage mishaps and a swindler who threatens to take her parents' savings.
Mack Sennett's production uses the workings of his studio as part of the comedy. Views of outdoor stages, camera crews and a small on-set orchestra preserve details of silent filmmaking in Southern California. The film was Mabel Normand's final feature and her last collaboration with Sennett.
