Synopsis

Marianna finds work reading to a wealthy older man and becomes attracted to the luxurious life around her. His son encourages her to abandon her family and fiancé for a relationship with him. The promise of wealth gradually loses its shine when she realizes that the future she imagined is not the one he intends to offer.
