Synopsis
An officer escorts an emir's daughter home from France and falls in love with her during the journey. His military assignment requires him to investigate activity that may involve her father. As conflict grows around a Foreign Legion outpost, personal attachment becomes inseparable from the demands and divisions of colonial service.

Behind the scenes
An earlier version of the project was interrupted by the outbreak of the Second World War. The eventual production obtained cooperation from the French Foreign Legion and filmed extensive action in Morocco before completing material in California. Its colonial viewpoint belongs to the adventure genre of its period.
