Synopsis
A woman travels to a South Seas island expecting to marry her fiancé and finds that he has become an unreliable drunk. A powerful local trader and an independent adventurer both take an interest in her. With property, pearls and personal freedom at stake, she must judge whom to trust in a community governed by coercion.
