Synopsis

An indebted beneficiary can claim a large inheritance only if he is married. He expects his intended bride to arrive in time for a crucial visit to his uncle. The deadline turns a romantic arrangement into an increasingly difficult performance of respectability.

Cast

Historical context

Tiffany Pictures assembled performers established in silent cinema for this early sound farce. Marriage as a contractual condition gives the comedy a direct link between money, appearances and personal relationships.
