Synopsis
Raised in a Mexican household, Ramona faces prejudice when she embraces her Native American ancestry and marries Alessandro. Their search for a life together meets discrimination and devastating loss. An old friendship eventually offers another future, without erasing the experiences that have changed her.
Cast
Inspirations
Helen Hunt Jackson's novel returns to the screen with Dolores del Río. The film uses intertitles rather than audible dialogue; the Library of Congress restoration reconstructs those titles and preserves the tinting of a surviving print.
