Synopsis
Two entertainers fleeing romantic complications in Australia accept work as divers for a prince. A princess and a submerged treasure quickly make the job more complicated than either expected. The partners compete for affection while trying to stay ahead of danger in a colourful entry in the Crosby–Hope series.
The sixth Hope-Crosby Road film was the series' only Technicolor entry. Surprise celebrity appearances and jokes that acknowledge show business extend the partnership's familiar habit of breaking the illusion of a self-contained adventure.
The production recycled a giant squid from Reap the Wild Wind and volcanic footage from Aloma of the South Seas. These borrowed effects helped assemble its extravagant island adventure from the studio's existing resources.
