Synopsis

The infant son of a stranded English couple survives his parents' deaths and grows up among apes. Years later, news of his existence draws an expedition to the African coast. Meeting Jane creates a connection beyond the world in which he was raised, while danger around the visitors gives his strength and familiarity with the landscape a new purpose.

Inspirations

The first Tarzan feature adapts the opening portion of Edgar Rice Burroughs's novel. Louisiana locations stood in for Africa, and a separate sequel took up material beyond this film's chosen part of the story.
