Synopsis

A Soviet scientist escapes an attack in the Nevada desert and wanders into the effects of a nuclear test. Transformed into a violent figure, he becomes the target of a police hunt. Nearby, two children stray from their family's car, bringing several confused pursuits together across the barren landscape.

Cast

Behind the scenes

Coleman Francis filmed without synchronized dialogue, adding narration, voices and effects afterward. The staging often keeps speaking faces out of clear view. Although the story invokes Nevada's nuclear-testing landscape, the production used California locations, including desert areas around Santa Clarita.
