Synopsis

Barbara falls for a French guide while visiting Venice, but her American industrialist father sees him as a fortune hunter. Pierre is sent to do punishing work in the family's chewing-gum factory. His charm and ingenuity help him succeed there, although learning the demands of business risks damaging the romance that brought him across the Atlantic.
