Synopsis

A chemist returns to Indiana to marry and finds himself drawn back into his father's world of horse breeding. The promise of an exceptional pacing horse begins to compete with his wife's expectations of their future. The drama connects a celebrated animal's career with the family ambitions and divided loyalties surrounding it.

Cast

Inspirations

The racing horse Dan Patch was a real sporting celebrity. The film uses that historical figure as the centre of a dramatic account, rather than presenting a documentary record of every incident in his career. Later releases also used the title Ride a Reckless Mile.
