Synopsis
A thief enters a palace intending to steal and instead becomes captivated by its princess. Desire draws him beyond the opportunism that has governed his life. His pursuit opens into an adventure of deception, fantastic obstacles and the need to prove himself.
William Cameron Menzies helped design the vast Hollywood sets for one of the decade's costly spectacles. The invented city is a major part of the film's attraction, joining Douglas Fairbanks's athletic movement to elaborate architectural fantasy.
