Synopsis
Deaths marked by severe blood loss persuade a frightened town that vampires have returned. A police inspector remains sceptical while suspicion gathers around an eccentric resident who keeps bats. As panic spreads, the search for a supernatural culprit threatens to conceal a danger much closer to the people offering reassurance.

Majestic Pictures reunited Fay Wray and Lionel Atwill after Doctor X, moving quickly while publicity was building for their next studio horror film. Borrowed sets helped the smaller production achieve a more elaborate appearance. Dwight Frye's vulnerable outcast gives the village's fear a human target.
