Synopsis

Dulcinea invites a prospective investor and his family for a weekend intended to help her fiancé's jewelry business. Her matchmaking and enthusiastic misunderstandings upset the arrangements instead. An apparently generous new backer offers relief until his own identity becomes a problem.

King Vidor directed Marion Davies in this adaptation of George S. Kaufman and Marc Connelly's play Dulcy. The comedy relies on a hostess whose confidence continually outruns her understanding of the people around her.
