Synopsis
Patricia is the overlooked younger daughter in a household dominated by her mother and selfish sister. Her place in the family seems fixed by other people's expectations. The comedy follows her efforts to assert a personality of her own, giving Marion Davies room to turn an apparently unassuming character into the centre of attention.
Adapted from Barry Conners's play, the film began Marion Davies's three-picture collaboration with King Vidor. Marie Dressler's role as the formidable mother helped revive her screen career after a difficult period. This was the only film in which Davies and Dressler appeared together.
