Synopsis

A young woman has two suitors but doubts the value of marriage after watching her parents quarrel. The freedom of her own generation seems to promise a different approach to love. Deciding between the men requires her to look beyond both youthful confidence and the troubled example that first shaped her fears.

Historical context

This was King Vidor's first release under the newly formed MGM name, beginning a long association with the studio. Eleanor Boardman, Ben Lyon and William Haines appear in an early example of the Jazz Age romance built around a younger generation's changing expectations.
