Synopsis

A small inheritance lets a bored Texas reporter pursue his dream of writing plays in New York. The journey opens the way to unexpected encounters and a new life in Brooklyn. A bartender's account frames the hopeful traveller's mixture of ambition, romance and misadventure.

Inspirations

Barry Benefield's novel Eddie and the Archangel Mike supplied the story. The screen adaptation retains the movement between Texas and New York that brings different local worlds into the same romantic comedy.
